How many customers do you have?	We have thousands of customers, ranging from single store independents through to international multi-store retailers, incorporating various sectors, primarily throughout the whole of Ireland and numerous regions of the UK.

How do I change the VAT rate?	Contact Anchor on (028) 9074 0315 or at enquiries@anchordata.co.uk. FREE Technical Advice (terms apply) for various equipment and software relating to the recent change in the VAT rate to 15%.
What is PC-based EPOS?	PC Based EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale) uses a standard personal computer and epos peripherals to to provide all you need to have a complete epos hardware solution, add the epos software and you are ready to go.
What is a "Z Report"?	Where you can print the sales totals you have completed during the business day. During this process the sales totals are reset ready for the next day.
What is an "X Report"?	Where you can print a snapshot view of the current sales totals, the figures are not reset as part of this process.
Are Anchor's solutions expensive?	Our solutions are competitively priced, with finance solutions available to spread the cost.
Will my employees be able to use Touch Screen technology?	The touch screen point of sale is designed for ease of use. Your operators will become proficient quickly.
Can I still use my Chip & Pin machine?	Yes. Integrated chip and pin can be added later if required.
Will I be supported if I have a query?	Yes. Our team of experts is available to help by phone, online, and on-site.
How will customer loyalty be improved?	Our software solutions allow you to report on individual purchases, identify key customers and promote value added products at point of purchase.

What kind of transactions can I perform at Point Of Sale? How will a new system make my business more successful?	It allows you to access your customers’ buying histories at the point of sale through all your trading channels. You will be able to review previous purchases, as well as account, gift card and store credit balances, and view real-time stock information. You will be able to schedule store sales in advance and also track which sales have been most successful.
What about staff training, programming help and general support?	Anchor Data Systems provides a complete service that includes basic on-site staff training. Your equipment will be configured at our service centre prior to installation, and all products come with a standard 1 year guarantee which includes technical support. What if we require extra training on particular areas specific to our business?	We can provide extended on-site training or on occasion we run training workshops at our premises. These workshops allow individual companies to gain expert advice on how best to utilise their products to maximise their impact. Contact us for more details.
My equipment was supplied by someone else. Can you take it under maintenance?	In many cases we do offer maintenance cover on equipment that was not originally supplied by us.
Can you repair my equipment on-site as I am unable to bring it to you?	Yes, simply contact us, we'll do the rest!
Can you repair my equipment even though you did not originally supply it?	Yes, simply contact us, we'll do the rest!
Do you supply consumables such as rolls, ribbons, labels etc?	Yes, we supply various industry approved EPOS comsumables for almost every make and model, all at superb low prices! (Discounts available)

Which type of Touch Screen do I need?	There are many different types of touch screen technologies available. For a more detailed description of what's available, see our Touch Screen Range.
Is SamStock/Bleep suitable for me as I only have one store?	Yes, very much so. We have many single-store retailers through to multi-location retailers. The system is designed to be scalable, should your retail operations grow into multiple locations.
How do I find out which version of SamStock Software I'm using?	Run SamStock. Then.. Version 3: Click on the "Help" menu at the top of the screen, then select the "About" option. Version 4: Click on the "About" menu at the top of the screen, then select the "About SamStock" option.

Card Reader	A peripheral device that reads the magnetic stripe on the back of a credit card. Such readers are found in ATM machines and all point of sale (POS) terminals that accept credit and debit cards	Departments	Programmable keys to allow distinction between products or departments, for example: groceries, sweets and tobacco in a newsagent
ECR	Electronic Cash Register - this is the conventional cash register and while it can be programmed to keep track of and recognise departments in a shop, it isn't a computer	EPOS	Electronic Point Of Sale - EPOS cash registers are computers. They can be networked or standalone and they operate by recognising codes on the merchandise, which are sometimes barcodes
Kitchen Printing	Process that allows orders to go straight from the cash register or portable terminal to the kitchen	MSR	Magnetic Strip Reader - a device that can read and decode the magnetic strip on the back of credit cards
PLU	Price Look Up -	POS	Point of Sale - simply the place where a sale is made
Scanner	A device that links to a system and reads barcodes for automatic price entry on EPOS machines	USB	Universal Serial Bus - modern type of connection, allows peripheral items to link to a Till or Computer system
